Kraft+ January challenge
Invites us to use our own handwriting on the layout.
Something I avoid, despite knowing it’s something I “should” do.
Still on my quest to bust my stash, I found an old chipboard letter and some equally old Kaisercraft patterned paper and let the page evolve from there.
A small part of the collection of alphabet books at Granny & Pa's home.
We both disappear into books, to discover, escape, travel & avoid.

A small part of the collection of alphabet books at Granny & Pa's home.
We both disappear into books, to discover, escape, travel & avoid.
We slurp up brand new words and sentences that roll off the tongue with cadence and rhythm.
We try to write alphabet books together with crazy examples for the letters. The sillier the better!
Texture paste through TCW time travel stencil.
Tried my hand at drawing the book stack.
A few flicks of paint and a bit of doodling, & voila!
The journalling reads:-
One of the special things we do in the school holidays is to visit Pegi Williams children’s bookshop. We never emerge with empty hands; rather it’s a struggle to narrow the choices down to just two or three. Recently at the library, I said, “This is my favourite place” and you said, “Mine too”. It gives me great joy to see you share my passion for the world of words, ideas and stories.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasure to see you have blogged and such a fabulous layout. So clever and creative how you used The B to journal on and frame your pictures , and love the book stack. Your Grandchildren are very lucky to have a Grandma that encourages and guides them in the love of books. It is always good to use our stash, I am being very good of late and trying to use my stash as well

That book title is awesome...and I love the books behind the top circle of the B. A very unique page...love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely playful page Helen - I love the coffee stains, the books stacked inside the B and the stacked title. It's wonderful that you can share your passion for books with your grandchildren - it's something I shared with my beloved Granny and it's a treasured memory. I've been out of the loop for a little while, but it's great to be back in Blogland and lovely to see what you've been up to :o)xxx
ReplyDeleteI am SO GLAD you have written on your page, even if it's not something you usually do & that big B is just PERFECT!! Funny how things jump out at us when we start scrapping. Meant to be, B....get it??!! Sozzy......fabulous take on our K+ challenge. Love your lateral thinking skills:):)
