Love every inch of you - DT layout for CSI 132

Hello and thanks for calling in,
I hope you will be inspired and maybe leave a little comment for me.
Here is the vibrant case file if you'd like to play along.
I was inspired by the outdoor theme and chose to document
a favourite outdoor activity when the children come for the day.
To see what the CSI DT have created for your inspiration.

Simply use all five colours.
At least two of the Evidence prompts
and at least one of the Testimony prompts
Most of all just have fun.
My page is based on a sketch from Sketchabilities
I had a few whoopsies with the Mixed Media and
covered a lot of the mess with the ruler,
which saved the page from the bin!
The back ground green is My Mind's Eye, Notable "Love this" range.
Sadly, I think that's my last piece of it.
I used a mixture of scraps here - Kaisercraft, Chatterbox and Bo Bunny
The hexagon stamp is from Bo Bunny
and the hessian flower is from a $2.00 shop.
It was extra large, so I just pulled it apart and used the middle.
The Mason jar is American Crafts, Lucky Charm, "Dreamcatcher"

EVIDENCE
String - around the jar
Pour something on your page - Glimmer glaze and Glimmermist
Hexagons - stamped
Floral pattern - on the jar
Bottle/jar
Bird

TESTIMONY
One of your favourite things to do is to squish your little fingers into play dough and make snakes and dinosaurs.  The best part of this activity is making a new batch of dough.  You love the mixing and experimenting with different types. e.g. flour and salt, hair conditioner and cornflour, flour and oil cooked on the stove. We usually go out under the verandah to contain the mess, however, I can see flour on your forehead and you always like to taste a bit, to see if it’s any nicer than last weeks recipe!  Love Granny 18th February 2014

TESTIMONY
I chose to use the inspiration word - Outdoors for my journalling, which reads:-

One sunny afternoon,  a massive rotting wine barrel and a root bound weeping maple provided an opportunity for little boys to learn how to re-pot a tree.  No matter that more dirt went around the barrel than in it.   No matter that the job took twice as long with the helpers   than without.  At the end of the day we had four dirty workers and children who know how to trim the roots of a tree.   They know how to tease out the roots of new annuals and how to water them in.   Best of all, they know how to learn by doing and by making mistakes.  They feel confident to try things, safely sheltered in the warmth of their Daddy and Grandfather’s approval, because we are growing children as well as a garden.   Love Granny 29th June 2014

Scrap Africa - Challenge 31 Card with Pion Precious Daughter papers

Hello and welcome to my blog on this cold, cold day in winter.
A good day to spend inside scrap booking.
The challenge is interpret the pinterest mood board any way you like.
Why not hop over to see what the team have created
and join in the fun.  There are prizes to be won.
I was inspired by the cascading purple flowers in the centre photo
and decided to make a card, using an image from Pion,
"My precious daughter" range of papers.
The floral background is a Pion paper from the same range.
I think the Spellbinder dies add to the vintage look.
The flowers are a from "Bitsa"
bits of this and bits of that;
They are all left over from other projects.
I love the way this turned out and would love you to join in the challenge.

Happy Day - DT - CSI/Artastic challenge

Hello, hello, thanks for calling in to say g'day.
I have a simple page to share with you today.
It's a collaboration between
Jane from Artastic, chose the inspiration image and Debbi created the Case File based on this art. If you choose to enter, make sure you post your layout in both the CSI Gallery and on the ARTastic blog (link in their left sidebar). They've got sponsors donating prizes, and all layouts submitted for this special Case File will be entered for our July prizes too. In addition, creators of our favorite layouts will be invited to join us as Special Deputies (guest designers) in September. This Case File will be open for investigation for the entire duration of July.

I wanted to keep the page simple
to create a sense of space and focus on the photo.
The sun and clouds were cut from American Crafts
Amy Tangerine, "Scatter Sunshine"
The words are from Heidi Swapp
And the sand is from the children's sandpit!
EVIDENCE
Scallops - around the clouds
Polka dots - rays of the sun
Label - the blue behind the photo and the wood veneer
Transportation accents - the camels
Sand like substance
Silhouettes

TESTIMONY
A sunset camel ride along this famous beach was just one of the many highlights of our three month Odyssey around Australia in our caravan.  The beach lived up to it's reputation; 22 kilometres of pristine sand, turquoise water, vibrant red soil and brilliant Indian Ocean sunsets.

Beautiful Memories - Scrap Africa DT Sketch 31

Today I'm sharing my take on a sketch by the talented
Denise van der Venter of
SCRAP AFRICA
I hope you will have time to click on the link at see what the gifted
Guest Designers as well at the regular DT have created to inspire you.

So how about you? We would really love to see what you create!
As always we have some goodies up for grabs.
Firstly, is a super voucher from PPBN Designs
and also  a Bo Bunny surprise pack donated by Denise

Just use the sketch with any colour you like, flip it, rotate it,
but show us how you use it in your own way.

You have until 14th July to get your entries in.

Recently I bought this paper from the Simple Stories range
because I wanted to scrap these photos of me as bridesmaid for my Auntie Joan.
She was happy for me to design and choose the colour of my frock.
It was gold satin with matching gold satin shoes
and I felt like a million dollars.
The flowers are mostly from Prima
The vase of flowers is from Simple Stories
A few die cuts as frames and foliage
and it was all done quite quickly. (a rare thing for me)

Journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

I was thrilled when Auntie Joan, one of my Mother's youngest sisters,
invited me to be her bridesmaid.  I was studying to be a Nurse,
partly because I admired my Aunt, who was a Triple Certificated Sister.
She was a free thinking,
independant woman, one who made her own decisions,
drove her own car and lead a sophisticated life style.
All of these things appealed to me, as a young girl,
growing up in a small country town,
where women didn't seem to have a lot of options.
The wedding took place in a Cathedral, so it was all very grand
and for the first time in my life, I felt like an adult.
