Thanks for calling in to my blog today.
I hope you will feel inspired and maybe join in the challenge.
Autumn brights are the colours chosen by Debbi Tehrani,
our inspirational leader.
along with a sketch from the talented Em Stafrace.
If you'd like to see what the rest of the DT created
I'd love to see your layout in the gallery this week.
I don't usually work with small photos, so found this sketch a challenge,
but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
Our twin Grandsons are a delight to have around.
Every time they come we get stoked up on endorphins;
they are great fun.
The orange paper is from an older collection by Echo Park,
For the record, "Borders"
I used the reverse side.
Chipboard title is by Imaginarium designs
The metal is from Prima - junkyard findings
Spellbinder die created the sprockets

JOURNAL
I used the inspiration word "Place" in the journalling and talked about their feelings at our place.
The journalling reads:-
Your Mummy and Daddy like to give you time apart from each other, so that you have individual attention from them and from us. Sometimes this means you feel territorial about the toys at our place.
It’s amusing watching you both trying to play with two things at once, whilst hiding a third thing behind your back and warding off any take over tactics with a glare. If a fierce look doesn’t repel the interloper, sometimes rough justice is dispensed and retaliation is needed.
Fortunately after a short time, when the ground rules have been re-established, harmony reigns and you quite happily sit still when I get the camera out. Here we have signs of a rapprochement. 8 April 2014 Love Granny

I guess the twins keep you very busy when they're around LOL. So good each one gets his special time alone with parents/grandparents.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are precious, and I just love the one with the big hug from behind. I love the banner with the flowers and cogs. The cursive title is awesome. I really need to get myself some chipboard titles/words.
Bright and cheerful page, and your did a wonderful job with the case file.
YOU TOOK THOSE PHOTOS?? Seriously? I thought they were professional photographer ones!!! I really like the 'clean lines' on this one....it's simply stunning...nice use of the palette, too....& of course, that story HAS to be told....looove watching the interaction between kids!!!
ReplyDeletePure sweetness, Helen! Loving the details in your banner, and how adorable are your little guys!
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable boys first of all and what a fabulous page! Awesome work. I get jealous when I see how you have journaled directly on your page. One of these days I'm going to break down and get me a 12 X 12 printer. Don't know why I haven't before now.

ReplyDeleteIt certainly doesn't look like you struggled with the smaller photos Helen. Fabulous! I always love your journalling too.
ReplyDeleteYour page is beautiful. I love how you used the sketch and just put your own personal style stamp on it. Your journaling made me laugh...because it reminds me so much of my little ones and how sharing isn't something that comes naturally.

ReplyDeleteMary x
Oh Helen this one is just beautiful. I love the CAS style and the photos do look professional and I had to smile reading your journalling. I see this already with my two and wonder how we are going to tackle it. It is so nice for a change to have someone who is going through it all first :) I have always been that person and now I get to get all the good tips and tricks from you. Thank you for sharing so openly. I love your take on Em's sketch. You rocked this one.
ReplyDeleteI really love the photos of the boys, cannot believe they were not taken in a studio!! and as has been said already, there certainly isn't any sign of struggle anywhere! The banner looks smashing and your journalling, well what can I say - they boys will love reading all the anecdotes you have preserved for them. You sure did rock this one! xxx
