Happy Days - CSI challenge 123

Welcome to my blog.
Are you ready for an unusual colour combo for this week's CSI challenge?
I was inspired by the stole in the case file picture.
I didn't have papers in these colours
so decided to play with mists and pastes to create the background.
Imaginarium Designs Chipboard
Embossed with Stampendous Aged marine embossing powder
The Spellbinder dies added to the taffeta and tiara theme of the night
The pale blue and navy colours are there on the frames,
just a bit difficult to see on the screen.
I used some fibre paste through a Kaiser craft stencil
to enhance the feel of the formal photo.
Then misted over the top with blue and green.
Mixed media background

I went to the “Angel Fire” prompts and chose to write about a favourite memory

Happy memories of a group of women I used to work with for years .  Because we all had such stressful roles, we  gathered once a month for dinner & a laugh.  On this night we met at Helen’s beautiful old home in North Adelaide & pretended we didn’t have to work for a living! Such fun. 24/4/1998

I love people who make me laugh.
I honestly think it’s the thing
I love the most.   To laugh.
It cures a multitude of ills.
It’s probably the most
important thing
in a person.

  1. Very beautiful the soft background work. Great use of mixed media. Your journaling makes me realise that we laugh way to little.

  2. As always such beautiful journalling and what a fun thing to do. Oh if only we didn't have to work !
    Gorgeous layout Helen x

  3. This is stunning! I looove how you created the background to suit & that fibre paste then the inking over top...just gorgeous:):)

  4. fabulous helen, love the textured colors ... great LO xoox

  5. Wow Helen, love how you created the background with the inks and stencilling....! Beautiful diecuts too...and a great photo! Your group therapy....sounds awesome!!!!! ;-)))))) Sometimes that's all one needs, is to share a little time and laughter with each other! I meet about every other Thursday with a group of scrappy friends, and it's exactly the laughter and comraderie that is so important. Sometimes we don't scrap a thing...sometimes we just chat and support each other! ;-) As always, thank you for the lovely reminder of friendship and laughter!!

  6. Oh Helen I love this layout, that background is just gorgeous and I love the damask stencil. Very glam. How wonderful to make time to get together. Good for the soul for sure. Looks like you had a lot of fun too. Your journalling reminded me just how much I love my girls too :D Thank you for sharing :D <3

  7. Love your taffeta and tiara theme! reminds me of when I was a lot younger and the girls and I used to have gatherings like this. Just love your fabulous background work! me thinks your take on a rather tricky palette is just grand! xxx
