Crafty Cardmaker's Challenge and Freshly made sketches card challenge.

Hello again, welcome back to my happy place.
Today I'm sharing two cards with you.

The first is for a challenge at
Where my friend Margaret Mifsud is a DT member.
Many of the techniques I've used are inspired by her beautiful cards.
The challenge is to use Pearls or other Gems on your card.
I used some Pion paper and a Heartfelt Memories die.
The gems are from my stash - I think they are from Kazzaz.
The flowers are an assorted mixture left from other projects.
The Prills add a touch of softness to the cluster.
I've added some punched (Martha Stewart) strips to decorate the inside.

The next card was made for a Freshly made sketches challenge,
but I ran out of time to enter, so here it is.
In an attempt to Stash Bash and not buy any new products
I used scraps of Maja papers and an older, much under used Stamp.
I heat embossed the the stamp on watercolour paper and then used
various colours of distress inks to colour the poppies.

Thanks for calling in to say G'Day, I hope you will come again.
I love to read your comments - they make my day.

Just for fun - Lindy's Stamp Gang Challenge using Stampotique stamps.

Hello Scrappy friends, thanks for calling in today.
I have something completely different to share with you.

I own a few Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals that are under used,
as well as three Stampotique stamps which rarely see the light of day.

LSG April challenge prompted me to liberate them from their
hiding places and make a few cards.

Not my usual style, but I'm really happy with the way this one turned out.
I used the heart stamp by dabbing it directly into a puddle of Magicals.
The Angel and the Heart Banner were stamped with Versamark
and coloured with various Tombow pens.

That's it for today.  I love it when you leave a comment,
to let me know you've been and appreciate each and every one of them.

Stuck?! Sketches! DT April - Smile, 3 little angels

Welome back to my blog today where I'm sharing a DT page for
I hope you will feel inspired to join in and be eligible for one of the lovely prizes.
I used one of the newer Kaisercraft collections,
as the soft watercolour tones looked lovely with my photo.
The Smile title and the teal coloured chevrons are from one of our sponsors this month,

The flairs are from Funky Flairs; I teamed them with some older brads.

I have scrapped a version of this photo before, but as the children all loved the day,
they each want it in their individual albums, so you may be subjected to it again
sometime in the future!

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-
You little cousins delight in one another’s company and also enjoy dressing up.  So it was fun to capture a few photos of you hamming it up, in your roles of two Shepherds and an Angel.
Although your personalities are vastly different, you are drawn to each other, like birds to the trees, meeting in the common nest of childhood innocence and mischief.  You make each other laugh and try to outdo each other with silly antics; sharing and co-operating with imaginative games.
(most of the time!)
We love your company and laugh for days after you’ve gone,
reflecting on the funny things, you say and do.
Love you more than words can say. 15 Dec 2014

Our sponsors this time are:-
They are donating - two large pieces of chipboard.

They are donating - a prize pack

Stuck?! Sketches DT Post - 1st April - Bloom

Welome back to my blog today where I'm sharing a DT page for
I loved this sketch and had the perfect photo for the heart theme.
The rich fuschia coloured paper is an older one from Basic Grey and I teamed with a small floral from Crate Paper.  I love the cut file by Just Nick.
The colours behind the roses were cut from paint chips.
The crystals are by Prima and the Pearls by Kaisercraft.
The strip of lace is from my Mother's stash.
A little peak of washi tape tucked in there too.
A couple of flowers from my stash, The pink and yellow one is by Prima.

The journalling is on the back of the page.

This photo of your beautiful Mummy was taken at your Baby Shower, about eight weeks before you were born.  Your home looked lovely, decorated with flowers and streamers. Lots of friends and relatives gathered for a party to celebrate; they brought gifts and shared in the excitement of your coming birth.  Your Auntie, who planned the party, asked us all to bring our favourite little Golden Book, to start your library.  I hope you will delight in reading as much as your cousins do.  After a pregnancy which was challenging at times, the end was near and the day of your birth just over the horizon.  It was such a joy to see your Mummy's glowing face, her expanding tummy and be part of the celebration.

Kraft+ April challenge. Be bold paint outside the lines

Welcome back to my blog.  As I write the rain is teaming down, there is a crispness in the air, daylight saving is almost at an end and I'm so happy to see the end of Summer.

Today I'm sharing my DT challenge for KRAFT+ in April.
Unusual huh!  That's what I love about Kraft+ challenges, they really make me think outside the box. Bereft of ideas initially, I needed to let this percolate around for a while, but then the light bulb moment happened when I remembered these photos. I sauntered into my local paint store to gather some samples.   Luckily it was a super busy morning, so no one questioned my need for such lurid colours!
I used the primary coloured paint swatches to "splash"
around the page and also to create some tabs.
The brush stroke was made with Colour Blast "Deep Water"
The spotty white texture was created with a Prima stencil.
I love the flair - it's from Funky Flair Studio.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads.

These photos were taken when you were just four years old.  You always wanted to
"Do Art Work" when you came to spend the day and were quite happy to don the painting smock to keep your clothes clean.   The easel is almost an antique; it was used by your Daddy and his brothers when they were kidlets. Around this time your favourite colours were pink, purple and silver.  Sadly we'd run out of purple, so we experimented by blending red and blue.  You were fascinated by the various shades you created. I notice you have a brush in each hand, although you mostly use your left.  You delight in taking your art home to show Mummy and Daddy. I really enjoy our play time together.
 Love Granny, 10th September 2015
