When I saw the colours for CSI this week, I immediately remembered a very special holiday in Bali.
The idea of the challenge is to use all five colours,
at least two items from the evidence prompts,
and at least one item from the testimony prompts.
Some designers like to try and use them all.
Here is how I cracked the case.
If you'd like to join in the fun, here is the CSI LINK
The papers are from older Kaisercraft ranges Peachy Keen, "Neat"
75 cents, "Guinea" and Golden arabesque.
The hibiscus were fussy cut from an old My Mind's Eye paper
A few die cut leaves and a button from my stash
Patterned paper
Something sheer - curtains in the photo
Floral pattern (punched border)

I used the inspiration words, tranquil, sleep, light and the dream vacation prompts
The journalling reads:-

We were in Bali for our Son’s wedding and decided to extend our stay in Indonesia to explore the mountains around Ubud.  The area is famous for it’s artists and writers as well as traditional dance and theatre.   We stayed in a small Villa with a gorgeous tropical garden, an open air bathroom and a plunge pool.  After exploring the area on foot during the day, we returned to this beautiful room and enjoyed a one hour massage.   The Balinese women used aromatic oils and their magic fingers induced a light sleep.  When we woke there was a cup of herbal tea to enjoy.   Fresh flowers, coolness, peace, tranquility.  Absolute bliss. October 2008

  1. This is such a beautiful page, Helen! I love everything about it, from the clean design (how I wish I knew how to make clean design...), to the beautiful elemnts and above all - your journaling (as always).
Looks like you've had a wonderful time there. one can easily calm down just reading your journaling and imagining the place.
    Thanks for sharing it.

  2. Oh, yes! Glorious use of the colours---looooove Blue....I'm gonna find the time to do this one! And DH remembers it as the place he fell into a mono drain & lost his glasses on a dark, stormy rain driven night as we sloshed & slipped our way home on a mud soaked lane.....& the frogs that kept him insanely awake all night!
    ME? I LOOOOOOVED the place!!!!!
So, your LO brought back heaps of memories:))!!!
PS: dont' think I'll be scrapping UBUD!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. how utterly magnificent, pure bliss and magic x

  4. This is just gorgeous - what a beautiful page and sounds like such a beautiful time!

  5. Love this page Helen! This is a definite favourite for me! The styling and design, just add to this idyllic and blissful scene! Loooove the hibiscus edge and the hibiscus blooms...hibiscus just for me is beachy, vacationy and tropical! The massage sounds wonderful and is so right up my alley too! Sounds like a wonderful vacation!

  6. Wedding in Bali and daydreaming in Paris, aren't you just a globetrotter Helen! the lacey bit under the fussy-cut blooms ads such a romantic touch to your elegant page. You are the queen of wonderful journalling and exquisite restrained detail. xoxo

  7. A wedding in Bali... how wonderful. I have never been there but it sounds a lot like Thailand. I love that bedroom and the idea of an open air bathroom :) the massages are the best. We would do that at the end of every day in Thailand and I suggested to DH that we bring one of the ladies home with us to move in with us and just give us massages each day :) let me tell you he was tempted. That border punch is perfect and has such a tropical feel to it and together with the colours takes me straight to paradise. Love it.

  8. Oh wow this is pure perfection & I absolutely love Bali too!!
