Scrapmatts DT November 2017 - Follow and a Christmas gift box

Hello and welcome back to Scrapmatts.
It's Helen with you today.

First I'm sharing a layout featuring a photo of one of my Grandsons
who is now almost seven.  The years have flown by.
To begin, I used a Scrapmatts brick stencil on the back ground - ST9024 A5
I've used a Crate Paper collection, "Cool kid"
The chipboard circle was painted with Tim Holtz Ozide, "Fossilized amber"
CB5140 string circles 04
The title is from CB6113 Scrap Words 32
The Gears were already painted black, CB1072
I flipped this sketch; it's by Laura Whitaker - thank you Laura.
The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

I love this photo of you taken on your first Birthday, you look quite a lot like your big brother and not at all like your twin.  Already you have a love of anything with wheels, big trucks, matchbox cars and anything else in between.  You enjoy lining them up, bonnet to bumper and creating long lines of them.  You love your tucker and sleep pretty well at night.  I wonder what the future holds for you little boy. Love Granny, Photo 26 Jan 2012

Next up is a Christmas easel card with a drawer, which holds a few chocolates.
I think it would make a lovely Teacher's gift at the end of the year.
The chipboard garland was painted with Twinkling H2O's
CB5164 Holly 05
The chipboard pieces were embossed in gold, they are:-
CB6111 Assorted Words 27
CB6081 Christmas Stars 02
CB1229 Chains 02

  10. Oh I love that triangle border leading down to the sweet dinosaur, a favorite childhood icon of my eldest son. <3 The sentiment is so beautiful overlapping the photo. I've never tried my hand at an easel card, but this is so incredibly beautiful and inspiring me to do so! Hugs, Autumn
