58 - CSI Challenge - Relic

Glorious colours this week, I'm just besotted with any version of blue,
it makes me feel serene and happy.
For a little extra spice to the challenge, we have a fabulous sketch from Em Stafrace

I used three different paper ranges and they all came together well.  The fishing net is as old as I am and so is the fibre which I tried to make look like seaweed.  Oh and the metal embellies are ancient too.  So good to use all that older stash.

TESTIMONY
The photo was taken at a beautiful beach at Willunga, south of Adelaide.
For the journalling I just let my thoughts wander and wrote what came into my mind.

THE JOURNALLING READS
The remains of the jetty at Willunga stand in silence as the sun goes down on another cloudy day.  Who were the workers that built this structure to carry wheat and wool out to waiting ships in the early days of the colony? How many families played in the sand and gathered shells at the water’s edge? What of the fishers who tried to eke out a living in the dangerous waters?  The relics of the jetty remain, but many of the personal stories are lost. The lack of evidence of life, spurs me on to record my family stories of this time in contemporary Australia.  The salty tang of the breeze and the sand between my toes, take me back to my childhood, when a trip to the beach was a rare and exciting thing. Time to play, catch crabs, build a fire on the beach. Cook and clean the crabs, rinse in the sea and devour, with the juice running off our elbows.  Drift off to sleep on a blanket under the stars, lulled by the sounds of the waves. Bliss
