Scrapmatts DT post - November

Hello again Scrappy friends, thanks for visiting today.
I have some projects to share using Scrapmatts wonderful products.

First up is a page about our darling GD.
The photos were taken recently and show how much she's grown in the past few months.
Because the Maja papers are a bit busy, I kept the page clean and simple.
The circle chipboard was lightly sponged with distress ink. I used it as a frame.
The flowers responded well to inking and the addition of tiny beads.
The bow to gathered them all together.
Love the new chipboard words which I inked randomly
with different greens and topped with Glossy Accents.
The gold spots were added through a stencil with Silks acrylic glaze.
Products used:-

With Christmas in the air, I also made a two festive projects.
The first is a fun Bon-Bon card inspired by Collette Mitrega.
When it's closed it measures about 4" x 4"
and when pulled completely open it's 12" x 4"
The folds look a bit complicated, but it was quick and easy to do.
Great for using up all those little scraps and giving them a new life with some gorgeous chippies.
Scrapmatts chipboard used:-
CB6111 Assorted Words 27,  (the little tree comes with these words)
CB1228 Christmas Ornaments 14
CB1229 Chains 02

Finally, I made a shaker Christmas tree ornament.
CB6089 Christmas Tree 05
This comes in two sections.  I painted the chipboard at the back,
then the raised tree outline with a slightly darker green, with gold for the star and the base.
When all was thoroughly dry, I hand cut a piece of acetate to fit.
Popped in some sparkly bits, added the acetate on top and voila!

Thanks for calling in and for any comments you care to leave,  I love reading them.

Love that and Masculine Card

Thanks for joining me today, to see my Scrapmatts blog for June.
I really enjoyed playing with one of the new Stencils ST5030 Flowers to create some texture for this layout.

I used heavy water colour paper for the background, knowing I wanted to get it wet with sprays and texture paste and it performed really well.

I used a sketch by Laura Whitaker, with her permission. She created it for ScrapMuch.
Thank you Laura.

I added some tiny beads to the centre of the stencilled flowers.
The small flower buds are from Scrapmatts. They come in a pack of 25.
The paper is from Lemon Owl, "Forget me not".

Scrapmatts chipboard used:-
CB 5131 Bubbles 01 and the arrow title CB6095
Assorted Words 18, all were heat embossed.

The stamps are from Prima.

The photo was taken during the school holidays, when we had all four Grandchildren for the day.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

It was fun seeing you all play together and getting along so amicably. Esther, you were patient all morning and went along with the boys Star Wars Lego games. You did try clapping your hands together at one stage and saying, “Listen up Boys”, but when you got no reaction at all, you gave up on that approach. Eventually, after lunch, you managed to coax your cousins outside with the idea of mud play, although somewhere along the way, the playing evolved into a skirmish, with mud flying in all directions. You got your wish, which was to “Get filthy with mud up to my eyebrows”!

26th April 2016. Love Granny

My second project is a masculine card for any occasion.

Scrapmatts chipboard used:-

CB 1188 Birds 06
CB 1204 Ribbon Banner 01
CB 1221 Nautical Designs 04
CB 1189 Scrap Words 01

The papers are from Maja

Thanks for calling in to say hello.
I truly appreciate any comments you may care to leave.

Scrapmatts DT projects April 2016

Hello there Scrappy Friends, I have three projects to share with you, each showing the versatility of Scrapmatts products.

The team was asked to use a photo of ourselves on a canvas. Gulp!
I have very few photos of myself and I had never used canvas before.

But nothing like a good challenge to get the creative juices flowing. I loved the way the canvas responded to all the mixed media, staying firm and straight.

First, I applied a coat of gesso, before using texture paste through Scrapmatts stencils, I used ST 1003 Stencil Sticks

ST 1004 Stencil Bubbles, then I used various mists, sprays and inks to achieve colour. The chipboard used is listed below.

CB 1021 Flowers 01
CB 6103 Scrap Words 21
CB 1146 Leaf Spray 01
CB Butterflies 02
CB 1188 Birds 06

The Flowers were heat embossed with Stampendous
"Aged Scarlet" embossing powder. The bird was heat embossed too.

The leaves and butterflies were painted with Twinkling H2O's.
The title needed no treatment at all.

I scattered some thread and a few beads around, as well as some Prima "Say it with crystals" for a bit of bling.

For the "Imagination" layout I used the alphabet flags as the title and thought they combined beautifully with the kite. The quote is from Lauren Bacall.

CB 6085 Alphabet Flags 04
CB 5036 Kites 01

A few embellishments from my stash.

I tried to achieve a weathered look on the kite with acrylic paints.

The flair is from Studio Fourteen 40

My journalling is on the back of the layout and it reads:-

You three little Grandchildren wanted to play outside. “Can we dig some dirt Granny?” “Sure, where do you want to dig?” “Somewhere with lots of room, so we can make a river and a lake” With a spot chosen under the orange tree, you formed a team. Without any discussion a foreman nominated himself, a second in charge assumed that role, which left a very willing girl to do the water carrying. You spent hours slopping around in the mud, discussing the merits of digging through to the other side of the world before dinner and other important matters. The session ended with a mud pie bake off and a taste testing for Granny.

What a delight to see you using your vivid imaginations in the great outdoors having good, dirty, fun.

Finally, a Birthday card for someone special, using Maja papers and an embossing folder to showcase the chipboard, the CB 1244 Scrap Words 30, I left raw CB 5035 Hot Air Balloons 01, was heat embossed and the CB 1109 Heart Spray 01 painted with silver.
