Scrapmatts August creating with Helen.

Today I'm sharing three projects for the SCRAPMATTS design team.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Sofia & Andrew, the owners of Scrapmatts,
at the Craft fair in Adelaide.
It was fun to get to know these generous people and
be part of the hustle and bustle of a busy stall.

First up is a layout about one of my Grand daughters.
The paper collection is from Cocoa Vanilla, "Wild at Heart".  A bit like my girl!
I enjoyed using one of the newer stencils, ST9012 - A5  patterns,  to create interest down the right side of the page, before splashing on some Tim Holtz Oxides distress ink.
This cluster at the bottom consists of:-
Flowers - CB1161 Flowers 11
Leaves CB4070 from the string Circles 06 Roses, treated with gesso,
before adding water colour paint and some tiny beads to the centre of the flowers.
CB1038 Dragonflies 06 was heat embossed with gold.
The sweet title is from CB6117 Assorted words 30, just a touch of white paint to make it pop against the navy floral paper.
The pink and white twine and the locket are also available from Scrapmatts.

Can you see the little birds at top left?  I pushed several thick layers of texture paste through
ST9020 - A6 Bird Stencil.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

These photos were taken during the school holidays when you and your three cousins spent the day with us.  You adore getting together with the boys, playing outside, going to the playground, baking, crafting and telling corny jokes.
You had already hopped into the bath, when the I started a photo session with the boys and you were a bit miffed when you thought you were going to miss out, as you love to have your photo taken. You dashed inside, pulled on a Tshirt  with your pyjama bottoms and hopped up on the stool as soon as there was a vacancy!  You borrowed one of my hair clips to get your hair out of your eyes and said. "I'm ready Granny"
I love the two different expressions; from demure to cheeky in a split second.
Love Granny - 27th April 2017

Next is a vintage style card for a friend's Birthday.
The vintage image called for some vintage embellishments and I created the peach background with a stencil similar to This one ST9025 - A6
The leaves looked lovely with the At Deco theme, I used Distress Oxides and Wink of Stella to dress them. CB1235 Leaf Spray 14
I scattered a few Prills at her feet and the
trim across the bottom was treated with crackle medium and gold paint.
The tiny butterfly is from CB1028 Butterflies 18

Finally a Father's Day card for a special event coming up soon.
The background was created with texture paste through another new stencil,
ST9024-A5 - Bricks
Then I added Tim Holtz Oxides Distress inks, to create a patina on the bricks.
The gears were already painted black, as were the words.

The framing of the beautiful lady with the prills at her feet--brilliant! I'm not one for gears or grunge usually, but wow--the perfect guy card! 8. See HOW did she go from that to this. She really is a delightful little girl. A beautiful layout and story. I wish I could get mine to sit for photos but they are a bit like my hubby... pull out the camera and they pull out their silly faces with tongues and all. I love the G45 card it is just gorgeous. A very cool masculine card too. You have been busy.
