Welcome to my Blog, a work in progress after a problem with self duplicating side bars.
I’m sharing a layout for the More than Words September challenge.
I'm liaising with Blogger to fix the problem, but just couldn’t resist the recipe challenge.
The look of delight on my Grandchildren's faces, when they spot a plate of Biscotti, was what inspired this page.
I used Blue Fern paper, Montage collection, “Mercantile” as the background and fussy cut elements from the reverse side of another sheet of the same paper.
This is the sketch I used, flipped upside down, it's from Scrapping Clearly.
Then I added a bit of Whipped Spackle with a Tim Holtz flourish stencil.

My Biscotti recipe has been baked hundreds of times in my kitchen; it’s my most requested recipe and happily inhaled by Grandchildren and adults alike. When I ask "What can I bring", it's always,"Can you make a batch of Biscotti please'?
The first time I tasted one of these crispy little morsels, I was at a craft fair and I harassed, begged, my friend until she revealed her secret! I kid myself that they are not too unhealthy and give myself permission to have more than one! The photograph was taken on my Great Aunt Agnes’ antique plate. It’s one of my special treasures.
Thanks for calling in to say hello.
I truly appreciate any comments you may care to leave.
Oh Helen this is sensational! I adore the pastel colours and your biscotti looks amazing! To be eligible for judging at More Than Words you have to include our challenge board image. Can you pop that in?

ReplyDeleteTotally delicious page Helen, reminds me of an old-time tea-shop, so pretty!! I love that background paper, the gorgeous stencilling and the subtle touch of mist there and the fussy cut elements are a perfect garnish! I heard someone the other day say we should call it "precision cutting" rather than fussy cutting. Hope you get your blog sorted soon - I'd be in a right tizz if that happened :o)xxx

ReplyDeleteOh I think my eyes light up when I see biscotti too. I think they are my favourite tea biscuit. I have never tried to make them though. Maybe I will get daring and give your recipe a try. I do so love to see your layouts. You seem to have found the PERFECT balance between mixed media and CAS and I just love it. <3

ReplyDeleteGorgeous paper & love the stenciling, Helen! I just made a batch of cranberry chocolate Biscotti to take to hubby's daughter for doing Thanksgiving for us--kept a bunch for us, too--haha! The antique plate is stunning--reminds me of some antique bowls I have that belonged to my grandmother.
