Welome back to my blog today where I'm sharing a DT page for

Stuck?! Sketches! 

This is a great sketch for multiple photos.

I hope you will feel inspired to join in and be eligible for one of the lovely prizes. 

As I wanted a soft and pretty look, I chose some newer papers for this challenge,

they are from Jen Hadfield, the Heart and Home collection. 

The grey paper is an older one from BoBunny; Isabella, "Savvy" 

The flowers are from my stash - Green Tara and Prima.  The die cut foliage is 

Down Under Scrapbooking.

The butterfly was fussy cut from the Bo Bunny paper and I rubbed a bit of Prima Metallic Wax on the white birdcage to soften it.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

Because you live so far away, we don't get to see you as often as we'd like.  However, one of these photos was taken with you perched on our kitchen bench, chewing happily on some Basil.   It was wonderful to have you visit for a few days and share a picnic in the park with your Uncles, Aunties and big cousins.  You've discovered that cardboard boxes are great fun and you enjoy going to the market with Mummy and Daddy on the weekend. We are so lucky that your parents send photos almost every day and we love seeing  your latest tricks.   Looking forward to seeing you again at Christmas time.

A Boy's page and a Christmas Card

It's Helen with you today.  How are your Christmas preparations going?

I'm still making cards and have a lever fold one to share with you.

After two years, it's time to step down from the Scrapmatts Design Team 
and this is my last post.  Sincere thanks to Sofie and Andrew for having me; 
I will be forever grateful for the opportunity and for your generosity.

First I'm sharing a Boy's layout.  The photo was taken in an industrial area, 
so that I could use the Grafitti as a background.

The Turquoise paper is from Crate Paper, Cool Kid.
The Navy polka dot, is an older scrap from October Afternoon. 
and the red is also an older scrap, from Amy Tangerine.

I like the way the black chipboard ties all the different elements together. 

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:- 

This photo was taken one day during the winter school holidays and we had planned a big day out.  We went to Port Adelaide to look at the "Adelaide", an old ship which is being restored.  It was used in the 1800 to bring settlers from Europe to Australia.  We came across this graffiti; which I thought was a great background for three skallywags. It was a freezing cold, rainy day, so we cut our expedition short and headed home for lunch and inside play.  20th July 2017

Next up is a card to inspire you.   I challenged myself to make a lever card and it was easier than I imaged.  I'm really happy with the result.

I lined the inside with a mixture of Kaisercraft Christmas papers.  

One of the folds was left blank, to write a Christmas message.

Scrap Matix Challenge, 7 Dots Studio - Love

Welcome to my blog during this busy time of the year;

I hope your preparations are coming along according to plan.

Today I’m sharing a layout for the Scrap Matrix challenge,

which was to use 7 Dots Studio Products.  

Inspired by the colours of the teething beads,  I've chosen to scrap an older photo of one of my Grand boys. The colours of the new Paint Chips range matched well.
The background I used is called Underpaper.

I teemed it with some of the sheets from the Paint chips 6"x6" pad,

and a tag from Destination unknown collection.

The chipboard frame is from Scrap FX - I treated it with Ranger Enamel Accents

and Tattered Angels glimmerglaze.

The metal butterfly has a few Prills for the middle.

I added a cluster of circle elements.  The flair is from Graphic 45

The yellow element is a Prima Art Pebble &  the small brad is from October Afternoon.

The texture paste was applied through a 13 @rts stencil

The Stamps are by Paper Artsy.

The words strips are also from 7 Dots Studio, the Lost and Found Collection.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-
Every face tells a story and yours shows your impish nature and the way your eyes light up when you see someone you love.  I see lots of bruises and scratches on your face; testimony to your fearless nature and love of climbing and exploring.
Your face is smothered in sunscreen and your shoulders are bare,  so we must have been heading outside for some water play in the little blow up pool.
You remind me so much of your Daddy at the same age.

Stuck?! Sketches DT 1st Dec 2017 - Power, go get 'em

Welome back to my blog today where I'm sharing a DT page for

Stuck?! Sketches! 

I hope you will feel inspired to join in and be eligible for one of the 
lovely prizes listed below.  

This sketch had me puzzled for a while, until I came across these, fairly ordinary photos, but they have a story to tell and some of you will know, I'm always keen to tell the story behind the images and bring the people to life.  I made the strips from off cuts of patterned papers. The yellow is from Echo Park, "That's my boy" range, the grey is from Simple Stories, "DIY boutique' and the black and white stripe is a seriously ancient scrap of Basic Grey, "Black Tie"  I'll be sad when this is all used.

I chose colours to team with the football guernseys the boy's were wearing.
The turquoise splatters were made by mixing Colour Blast paste and Dylusions paint.
The enamel dots are from Doodlebug designs "Matte sprinkles"

The yellow die cuts are from Uniquely Creative and the "Go get 'em" title is by 
Pink Fresh Studio.

I've  added the Boy's favourite players next to them and the Power logo next to the Power supporter.  The other twin will have his team logo on his page.  For some reason, he's decided to barrack for Richmond and luckily for him, his team won the Grand final this year, for the first time in 37 years!

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-
You Boys at 6.5 years are in love with Aussie rules football.  Your Paternal family have followed Port Power for generations and it's great to see you out side, learning skills, getting fit and taking an interest in the football code we follow here in South Australia. You played for a team in the Auskick competition during the winter and were lucky enough to be chosen to play on the Adelaide oval before one of the AFL games.   What an honour!  You were so excited to be mixing with your heros.  Love Granny 2nd April 2017

Kraft+ DT December 2017 - Wonder

Hello again Scrappy Friends, welcome to December where today I'm sharing a post for Kraft+

The idea is to be inspired by anything on the mood board.

It can be anything in the photo..not just the colours.

The circles

The frames 

The wood grain

The textures

The pastel chairs

The designs on the cushions

The fruit

The cups

Just don't forget the Kraft! 

The weathered teal table and the orangey chairs jumped right out at me,
so I went with those colours.

The teal paper was of boards which I cut apart and sanded as well as adding some colour with Prima Rusting pastes.  The paper is by Websters "Painted Effect."

The flowers are from my stash and the chipboard is from 2Crafty; I embossed it with my favourite embossing powder by Stampendous, "Aged Ivory."
The flair is from Studio Fourteen40.

I added an older title from Heidi Swapp, because it was the perfect colour.
The MM was done with Tim Holtz Oxides - a blend of Broken China
and Cracked Pistachio. The triangle stamp is from Kaisercraft and the flicks of gold were done with Docrafts Artiste spritzing ink.

The orange paper is an older one from BoBunny the Madeleine range.
I love this heart chippie, but I don't know where it's from, it was painted silver and looking forlorn in the bottom of a discard pile.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-  
You were staying with us for three days and two nights during the school holidays and I took the opportunity to get some new photos of you.  You've changed so much since you've been at school; that combined with your longer hair and glasses, make you like quite grown up.  You still like crafting and baking though and we spent time making an Advent calendar, which was part of your Birthday present.  You go to sleep quickly and sleep well for five or six hours, but then, when you wake, you say you are missing Mummy and Daddy and come to sleep with me.  You are such a restless sleeper, constantly moving, thrashing around and calling out; It's like sleeping with a zebra or a unicorn! You are up with the Sparrows and ready for the next activities on your agenda. We miss you when you are at school and love having you to stay over.   I wonder if there is anything that helps Zebras and Unicorns to stay sleep?  Love Granny 4th October 2017
